The Kingston Lake Association has joined forces with the Pow Wow Pond Council and the Kingston Planning Board to draft a grant proposal to the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services titled "Town of Kingston Stormwater Management Awareness Program." "The recent pattern of heavy rains and flooding have added nutrients to our ponds and reduced water clarity as documented by our steady participation in the Volunteer Lake Assessment Program.  Our goal is to educate the home owners in the watershed of our seven ponds on best management practices for Stormwater Management by making them aware of the resources that are available to help them make responsible decisions.  Publication and dissemination of an informative brochure would be the result of a successful grant award."

The NH DES has published a new document to assist landowners entitled A Shoreland Homeowner’s Guide to Stormwater Management.    If you are a shoreland homeowner, your property may produce stormwater runoff that directly impacts the quality of our waters. This guide provides several simple and cost effective practices shoreland homeowners can use to reduce and prevent polluted stormwater runoff from roofs, patios, lawns and driveways.
